Gavie Remaly Episode 45

We dive into why we hold on to clothes that no longer serve us, how color consulting can enhance natural beauty, and what it means to dress in a way that reflects who you truly are—not who you think you should be.

Whether you’re in a style rut or just curious how your wardrobe impacts your mindset, this episode offers inspiration and practical tips to help you feel your best.

Christian Graffagnino is a seasoned wardrobe stylist and founder of Infinite Image Consulting, which she launched in 2014.  It is your visual resume. It is your walking billboard. Um, that's something that when I'm doing speaking engagements, we talk about that a lot. Like we know what a written resume is, but have you ever thought, thought about what you're wearing as your visual resume? You know? Mm-hmm. If you think of what's on a, an actual resume that you would submit, it's about your, you know, your past.

Uh. Employers, like what you've done for those businesses, your accolades, your awards, your all of that. And then I want women to think about their dress as their visual resume because ultimately what you're wearing is telling a story. So we wanna make sure, and I wanna make sure that the story that you're telling is the one that you want to be heard.

And it's, we live in an image driven society, like whether we like it or not, and we're judgemental. You know, I say this joke sometimes too at my, at my talks like. People like to say, don't be judgmental. It's not nice. But if you're in a Walmart parking lot, you better be judgmental sister. Like I'm just saying.

You gotta look, look around and see what's going on around you. It's your, uh, you know, I just recently picked up painting and I'm having so much fun with this. So I want people to think of like your body as the canvas and your style is the brush, right? Like, what story are you painting? Like how do you want to be perceived?

Mm-hmm. How do you wanna be received? And then how do you put that into action?

This episode is definitely for you, so if you're feeling fancy. Put on your accessories and come and join Christian and me. Let's get into it. Hi Christian. Welcome to the show. I am so excited that you're joining me here today. I'm excited too. Thank you so much for having me. Absolutely. So I like to start off the show, like kick it off by hearing about what makes you kick ass.

So I wanna know what makes you kick ass at helping women find confidence to be like authentically themselves and channel like what they really wanna express to the world in style.

Yeah. Oh my gosh. I love that. I love starting my day with telling other people how we're amazing, right? Yes. So honestly, I think like style is the language that I speak very fluently.

It's something that has come naturally to me, you know, over the years. It's how I connect with people before a word is even said. So I think that in that superpower, one thing that I do is I can usually see who somebody is before they even see. See it or even own it themselves. And my favorite thing ever is like being able to help them dress in a way that reflects that version of themselves.

Like that real powerful, unapologetic version of themselves. Yeah, it's kind of like I, we kind of go from like that hoodie mode to that headline kind of energy, you know, with my clients. And I love that shift. I love when my clients start to see that shift. And for me it's like, you know, that superpower is like, Hey, let's just like forget labels.

Right? Mm-hmm. Forget who's on the label. Forget what size it is, because style is more than a tag ever could be. Right? Like it, it's so much more than that, so. Mm-hmm. Yes. It's all about confidence. It's about owning that for yourselves. Um, again, it's not the outfit itself, but it's how you hold yourself. And that's sort of like deep breath moment when you're like, I'm finally feeling like I am showing up as myself, and that's when everything starts to change.

I love that. And the whole like, it's not about like the outfit itself, it's like how you wear it. It's kind of like, are you wearing the outfit or is the outfit wearing you? Yes. Kinda thing. Right, exactly. So I love that. So, uh, I saw in some of your content you said, I founded Infinite Image Consulting to help.

You dress according to your inner spirit. And I freaking love that because that's a little bit of what you were just talking about, right? Yes. Like becoming the person that you want to become or embodying that person. Mm-hmm. And you also take the stress out of getting dressed, which I think is so fun because I hate standing in my closet and being like, what am I gonna wear today?

Yes,

yes. You're not alone.

So can you tell us more about your. Story, like what moment did you realize that you could like, embody the person that you wanted to be? Yeah. Like, that you wanted to become, uh, and like express that through fashion?

Yeah. Um, that's a great question. So I love telling the story of like how infinite image started.

Mm-hmm. But, you know, thinking about just even taking it even further back, like style came naturally to me when I was younger. It was, it was. It was just a thing. I didn't realize it was though, until like other people started saying it. And now that I go back and start thinking about it, like I grew up in a small town, looking put together was a form of respect, right?

So my mom would always say, you know, look your best. Like have that best version of yourself. And I just remember always wanting to do that, like, yeah, well for one, I always wanted to make. My mom and dad proud, right? But I also just wanted to feel good about myself. Um, even like my grandmother, she would say, oh baby, you look so nice.

Aw, that's, you know, and it was so funny 'cause it didn't matter what we wore. Like she would just, she would just say that. And so just. Queen of compliments kind of thing. Yeah. And it made me feel seen. Right. And so now that I think back to it, it's like how do we help others to feel seen? Like how do we do that?

Uh, my aunt was another person who noticed it. She lived out of town. And so she would just say things like, you know, MERS, most girls like your age don't really do that where I'm from. And so she would always just give me kudos. Right. Compliment the things you want to happen over again. And that's definitely what a lot of the female, um.

People in my life were doing. Um, but then, you know what, like college happened, life happened, life got busy. You know, I kind of like started thinking I wasn't dressing with intention as much back then, you know, at that time it was just kind of like throwing things on and going to that next level. So it, it's, it's.

It's really when I realized that style isn't shallow. Like I felt better when I was dressed a certain way for myself and not for other people. So I always say like, Hey, I, I, I love doing this. To me it was even sort of like something spiritual, like I was dressing my soul 'cause I wanted other people to see who I was.

Yeah. And I can, you can do that through, through the clothing that you, through the clothing that you wear. So,

yeah.

When people, um, started asking me, um, Hey, Christian, would you like come to my closet? So I made a shift from, I went to college, got my degree. I worked for nasa, a subcontract of NASA for a little while, decided we wanted to have.

Some more. Another kiddo stayed home. I was in the jewelry business for a while. I would help set up jewelry at these different parties, and the ladies there wanted more than just accessories. And so they were like, gosh, you always look so cute. You always look so put together. And I was like, well, that's just, that's just.

Oh, that's just how I like to be. Yeah. Wow. I could teach this to other people. Like I can give them this confidence, I can help them get outside that bubble. And they were literally like inviting me into their closets, like before being a stylist. Um, it wasn't just like an LA thing right? Be it was way before all of that.

Yeah. So we're talking about like this 2000, um. 8, 9, 10 timeframe right there. Mm-hmm. Where we were, I was starting to see this shift where people wanted more than just me showing them how to wear accessories. They wanted me to help them shop. They wanted me to help them put outfits that were already in their closet together.

And I was like. Let's do this, you know? Yeah. Like let, let, let's do this. Let's go all in on this. And so, infinite Image Consulting was officially born in 2014.

Yay. I love that. That is such a great story. And like it's such like. A testament right. To like how good you are at what you do is that everyone's like, dress me please.

Thank you. And I, I also love that you said that like fashion or style isn't shallow. Yes. Because I think that a lot of times people do have this kind of concept of. The whole style or fashion industry being a little bit just, you know, surface level. Sure. Like you think of Devil Wears Prada. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

And like movies like that, or even Sex in the City. But I think Sex in the City like goes way deep with the fashion and I love it. Oh for sure. Oh for sure. I'm here for

it.

I'm totally here for it. Yes. Awesome. So you touched a little bit on it about like why. It can be important to be well dressed because it does bring out that confidence.

Yes. And like you're, a lot of your clients are like these really ambitious women who are super busy or just, you know, they wanna look put together. Right. But maybe they just don't know. How or why that matters as much because maybe mm-hmm. I think it's easy to write off and be like, I'm a little too busy to try to actually put effort into what I'm wearing.

Like I'm gonna wear my Lulus and a, a nice sweatshirt. Yeah. And it's gonna be a day. Yes,

absolutely.

So how can your personal style, like make an imprint of who you are before you even. Speak or when you walk into a room, that whole, like the image precedes you. Yes. Like you touched on it a little bit earlier, but can we get deeper into it?

Yeah, absolutely. So it is your visual resume. It is your walking billboard. Um, that's something that when I'm doing speaking engagements, we talk about that a lot. Like. We know what a written resume is, but have you ever thought, thought about what you're wearing as your visual resume? You know? Mm-hmm. If you think of what's on a re, an actual resume that you would submit, it's about your, you know, your past, uh, employers, like what you've done for those businesses, your accolades, your awards, your all of that.

And then I want women to think about their dress as their visual resume, because. Ultimately what you're wearing is telling a story. So we wanna make sure, and I wanna make sure that the story that you're telling is the one that you want to be heard. And it's, we live in an image driven society, like whether we like it or not, and we're judgmental.

You know, I say this joke sometimes do it my, at my talks like.

Like, that's one thing that I help my clients to do is figure out.

What that is, and then help them get from point A, help them visualize what that looks like for them to point B where they're doing it and they're confident while they're doing it. That style is giving them presence before they speak, and people are feeling your energy before you even have a word to say.

Because like I said, whether we like it or not, you've got two seconds to make a first impression and that is solely based on your hair, your makeup, your clothing, your, but also your posture. It has to do with your posture and your energy and your handshake and your communication. Like there's so many nonverbal things going on that it makes a difference how you show up.

Yeah, absolutely. I love that because it is, I. It's like energy, right? Like you're putting out what you kind of want to draw in. Yes. Mm-hmm. And yeah, I love that. When you think about someone who like, like I love to be comfortable and I think that there's something that you can like. Just because you like to be comfortable doesn't mean you can't also be stylish or fashion forward, right?

Absolutely, absolutely. So that, that is like a, a balance that I'm looking to find or that I've been trying to find right now. Yeah. Like I just wanna be comfortable, but at the same time, I like wanna look. Okay.

Of course, you know what everyone does, Gabby, like whether you. Whether people like verbalize that or not.

Like everyone wants to look put together. Everyone wants to be accepted in one way or another. And your style is one way that you can show the world who you are.

Yeah, for sure. Like we talked a little bit earlier also about like how your style can actually, I. Like bring you more confidence in. Mm-hmm.

Make, like we're talking about the energy, right? Yes. Like how it can make you like undeniable. Mm-hmm. So like in your experience, like what kind of opportunities have you seen or seen in your clients that like, you know, the doors are opening because they feel more bold or, yeah, more like. Able to actually express themselves and what they want to say.

Yeah, to live like more authentically, like what have you

seen? That's a great question. So I have worked with many clients. I love working with people who are in transition. Um, I have had some people purchase. Packages for others, like mm-hmm. There was a mom who purchased a package for her college aged daughter who was going out and doing interviews.

And so we got together, we took a look at the, actually this has happened more than once. Um, I said one time, but it has happened multiple times, and we will take a look at what they already own. Mm-hmm. What the type of interviews are, because they could be doing multiple ones and it could even be like.

During college age. Mm-hmm. And those clients that I've worked with specifically, one, I have heard from their moms to say, gosh, thank you so much. Right. Sometimes it's good coming from an outside source, but the second one is after they go into those interviews and they nail it, they will give me some information, they'll be like, Christian, I went in there and I nailed it and it felt so amazing.

And so it is that confidence of. And again, I said like people who were in transition. So that's one transition. I work with people in relationship transitions we work with, and also weight transitions, like all of those different categories. Just that confidence of knowing that you look really great and what you're wearing has helped them to get to that next level because they're not worried about the clothes anymore, right?

Like I've given them permission to feel great in what they're wearing and they know it and they own it. So much faster and easier. And so I think that is such a great way that, um, or what I have seen in my clients. Build that confidence through what they're wearing.

Oh, I love that. So like what would be your like number one tip if someone asked you like, what can I do to like actually be bold enough to pick the clothes that I think are fun and exciting, but I think that maybe the clothes would wear me and me not wear the clothes kind of concept that we were talking about.

Right? Yeah. Like what's your number one tip on that?

Find your style recipe. Ooh, find what makes you tick. What are those words that you want to embody and you want people to, to, to know who you are, to, to be able to recognize you. Yeah. Maybe that's like, um, a bold or elevated or classy or dramatic or sassy even, you know?

Yeah. Pick three to five style words and use that as your filter for everything to flow through. So not only the the clothes that you will wear and the outfits you put together, but what's currently in your closet right now. Ah, that's a good point's. Put that through that filter right now. Wear which you have first and then figure out how to incorporate more of.

Your energy. Yeah. After you define that, incorporate more of that energy so that way you're shopping smarter, you're putting outfits together smarter. Mm-hmm. You may have some really great pieces in your wardrobe already. Mm-hmm. That will embody that. And maybe the, there just needs to be a few tweaks. I love helping my clients like go through that and say, okay, these are the style words.

Here's how we can translate that and make that happen. But to me, the first thing is you have got to define what you want your style to be.

That's awesome. I love that because I. I would, I've never thought of it that way. Like I love that perspective. It's so cool. And you were talking about like going through your own closet, right?

Mm-hmm. And picking out like what already kind of. Is described by those words that you picked, right? Yes. Like, that's a really good tip. What do you say to the people who are like, but I can't get rid of those jeans or those that, that outfit because it like, it's sentimental or it holds a place, or, yeah, it just, it belongs in my closet.

Like, how do you let have people like, let go

the stuff that they're not actually wearing but wanna hold onto? Oh my gosh, that's a great question, Gabby. And I've recently had to do this with my own closet, right? Like, let's for real with yourself, you know, weight gain, that that happens, right? Like. Our bodies bounce back and forth.

Mine has bounced one way and it's kind of hung out there for a little while and like, that's a real thing. That's okay. Yeah. Um, I deal with this with, with women too, and the way that we, here's the thing. Your closet is precious real estate, right? Mm-hmm. Every time you go in there, you've got a decision to make.

'cause you know what? We gotta get dressed every day. We have to put clothes on our body, right? So every time you go in there, you've got a decision to make. If there are fewer things in there, you are reducing that decision fatigue. That's number one. But also, if you think about it. Does it really have to belong in this closet?

Right? If it is something that's super sentimental, like I've gotten some pieces that my grandmother wore, like that's really, really sentimental for me, right? Like, I don't wanna part with those, but does it need to be in my, like what I call the hot zone of my closet, where I'm going to pick from every day?

It doesn't because it's visually overwhelming to have so many pieces in your closet that mm-hmm. Will, mm-hmm. Help that will adjust the decision that you have to make every morning. So my thing that I work with with people is say, look, if there are those few pieces that you just have this huge sentimental attachment to, let's just move them.

You can move them to the back of your closet. You can, you know, box them up, shrink wrap, whatever we have to do, shrink wrap. I don't have shrinker, but you know what I'm talking about. I know what you're saying. Yes, I know what you vacuum pack is what I meant to say. That's what I meant to say. I love that.

So we can move them to a different area so it's not making you feel overwhelmed. And the second thing I would say with that is, bless someone else with these things. If you have this in your closet and you can't personally wear it, like give it to someone who is. In need. One thing we do with our, with our transformation clients is we will take the clothing that no longer serves them and we will donate it to a variety of different organizations based on the level of clothing that it is.

So it could be some kind of like shelter. Mm-hmm. Um, it could be some kind of like outreach program. Um, it could be, uh, companies like Dress for Success that give clothing to women who are in need, and just think about that blessing that you are to someone else. Yeah. When it's not serving you anymore.

It's not blessing you by being in your closet right now if it doesn't fit. If it doesn't flatter, right? Yeah. So how can we give that to someone else to be a blessing for someone else?

I love that. I love that so much. And I also love that when you mentioned the donations, you didn't say Goodwill. I like that you mentioned like other, you know, charities or things like Yes.

Like organizations that give back to the people without having to necessarily, you know, yes. Purchase those things. Correct.

Yeah. Happy to share those two. So there are some amazing local organizations that, um, are in, if, if. If your podcast listeners are in the Friendswood, Pearland, um, you know, in that Houston, Houston area area, yeah.

Um, we have some really, really great resources. The ones that I like to go and drop off to locally mm-hmm. Are, um, there's Hope Village here in Friendswood. Um, they have a great little thrift resell shop and it is such an amazing community that helps. Older people who have disabilities. And I think it's just such a great way to give back as well as forgotten Angels in Pearland.

So those are two amazing places that you can give to locally that will put them in the shop and then mm-hmm. They, they are there working. Right. So it's giving them a purpose. Mm-hmm. And you're helping. For them because that's how they receive some funding too, right? Yeah. Like they receive funding through, through those thrift shops.

So I think that's such a great way to give back. I mentioned Dress for Success earlier. Mm-hmm. Um, there are also, uh, places like, uh, bay Area Turning Point, um, who help women who were in just not great situations. And they need clothes. They need clothes too.

I'm glad you mentioned that one. 'cause I didn't know that there was one kind of closer to like the southeast side of Houston.

Yes. I usually like to take my donations to, uh, the cottage shop. It's in Houston. Yes. Um, because. Even though it's a resell store for people to go in, like all of the, a hundred percent of the proceeds go back into the, uh, women's shelter in Houston. Nice. Which is really, really awesome.

Yeah. It really is.

Like you feel like you're doing something just beyond yourself, right? Yeah. And then you're doing something for that organization, but you never know, like the person who's going into shop, you don't know what their life is like if they go in and find something and that just. Totally blesses their day.

Yeah. And they're so excited. Like, I can't believe I found this. Like, who doesn't love a great deal? Right? Yeah. So they're going into these shops and they're saying, I found this amazing piece. It's because you were willing to let it go. To help not just yourself, but to help these other people as well.

You're like a superhero, a fashion super, a fashion superhero. I love it. I love it. I love it. So I wanna go back, rewind just a little bit. Sure. Earlier when you were talking about like your closet and um, you know, getting rid of some of those clothes you had mentioned. The, like a hotspot in your closet?

Yeah. Like tell us more about that. Sure. Because that sounds like it'd be also really helpful to connect with those, those tips that you're talking about, like with the, the words, right? So, yes. Yes. Okay.

So in your closet, we have hot and cold zones in your closet. Okay. So. Your hot zone is that spot in your closet where you see it first.

You like, you walk right into your closet. Or if, if you've got, um, maybe you don't have a walk-in closet, maybe it's just like a, a chest of drawers or you know, a sliding door. Mm-hmm. The hot zone is a thing that you see first, and I want you to put your most worn pieces there. So let's say your lifestyle is, um, you know, I, I like to do like a little diagram, right?

That's where my sy part comes out of me. I'm like, okay, let's let, let's chart this out. Like, how much of your wardrobe are you wearing? And what percentage of that is like for your lifestyle? So, if you're like in mom mode, maybe you're like, but you're also working. Maybe you say, okay, like 40% of my time is at my day job and this is the dress for that.

And then, you know. 30% of my time is like soccer mom vibe, right? Mm-hmm. I wanna make sure that those pieces are in that hot zone, right? When you get into your closet, okay? That way that's what you're looking at first, right? Mm-hmm. So a, a cold zone would be for things that are not seasonal, right? Like there that are in a different season.

Mm-hmm. Um, are things that you don't wear as often. So if you're not into wearing a. Suits, you know, nine to five all the time, but you need a couple of good suits. We might move that over. So what you're focusing on when you get into your closet is a step you'll actually wear now. Mm-hmm.

Yeah. I love that.

You mentioned also kind of putting the seasonal things in the cold zone, so you're just kind of rotating your closet out, so it eliminates that whole decision fatigue, right? Yes, absolutely. That you were talking about. Absolutely. Yeah. I love that. Absolutely.

Absolutely.

I love that so much. Oh, Christian, this has been such like.

An illuminating like talk. So tell us about like how the audience can work with you, because you offer both like digital and in-person Yes. Um, things, right? Oops. Yes. I just hit the mic. Lemme, lemme redo that. Okay. You offer both like digital and in-person packages, right? That's correct. Awesome. Can you tell us a little bit more about how people can work with you and how they can find you?

Yeah, absolutely. So you can find me online, of course. Our website is www.infiniteimageconsulting.com. Uh, we are also on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn. You can find us on those different social platforms. Search for Infinite Image Consulting, and you will find us. There and different ways that people can work with us.

I'm so glad you mentioned that. Yes, we do. In-person and virtual, um, we actually just wrapped up a client in Utah, which was wonderful. We did a full transformation session with her. So a couple of the different activities that we offer, we focus on style transformation through confidence. And so we have three different areas that we do that.

We've got styling packages where we're working with your wardrobe. We do that through color confidence as well. So finding out your colors. We know that's so like fun on trend right now. Find what colors suit you best. We, we use a great system to be able to do that. That can also be done in person or virtually.

And then we also do speaking engagements. So we do this like a lunch and learn type thing for just different business organizations, but also for local groups as well. So if that's something that people are interested in. Within our style packages, there is a very, like, there is an intro level that people can get into.

It's called a style visioning session. Hmm. So maybe you don't know what your style is and you're wanting to kind of get to that next level. So it's an hour virtual session and we take you through several different questions. You go through a questionnaire. And actually all of our clients go through the same questionnaire because we wanna get to know you and utilize our time the best possible way.

Mm-hmm. So a style visioning session would be a one hour where we are just like knocking it all out. We're going through a ton of your questions, we're helping you understand what works for you. Yeah. You might have questions like in your closet, like, oh my gosh, how do I put this together? Right. Yeah. This is a maybe, I'm not really sure if I should keep it or not, or what, you know.

It really, really helps through all of that, all of our clients going into the further sessions, go through our style strategy session. It is that questionnaire, it's 30 minutes, it's complimentary. We wanna see if we are gonna be a good fit for each other, depending on what level that person is at and what level of help that they need.

We can just. Give them some guidance on what is gonna work best for them. So we offered deluxe and transformation packages depending on what they need, those foundation. Items, services that we offer are gonna be, um, editing and auditing closets. Oh. Like edit things out, you know? Yeah. What, what do we have in here?

Or, or edit things in. And at the same time, how many black charts do you have, girl? Like, what, what are we doing here? So we can start to see like, what does that editing and auditing look like? Because ultimately we want our. Clients to feel like they wa are walking into a closet that feels absolutely them and absolutely wonderful.

Mm-hmm.

We do styling, helping people put outfits together. We do shopping for you so you don't have to be overwhelmed. We take the stress out of getting dressed by doing the shopping for you. With you, you, we have an online app that makes it. So easy to communicate all of these things. And our transformation clients really love one feature called Stylist on Call.

Yeah. So you like have us at your fingertips. You can ask us all the questions, you know, based on your style. And it's such a beautiful thing for our clients because they are feeling more confident when they step out every day because they have that like quick access to ask us questions.

Yeah. One, one, uh, service that you mentioned we didn't even touch on.

Okay. And I feel like, like you said, it's very trendy right now. Yes. Yes. And like we talked about, or you're, you're talking about like color, right? Yes. And that people really like to see like what are their colors? And I feel like just having the whole closet kind of. What did you call it? Um, an edit. Edit.

I was gonna An audit. Audit, yeah. Okay. Okay. Having the closet audit and then like knowing what your colors are like, that's a really good start. Yes. I think just to like get, you, like to kinda start feeling out what your, what absolutely. Your style could be, right? Absolutely. So I know that the, the process of finding out your colors can be a little involved.

Yes. Like for, for the audience who doesn't know about, um, what it takes to do like the whole color consult, like a true Yes. Color consult. Can you walk us through like what those steps look like and then Yes. Why? Like, it is so transformative. Yes. 'cause I know it can be and I know, yes. I wanna tell people why it's trendy.

I'm so glad that you're asking this question because you're right, it's trending. People are seeing it on videos across you. People are seeing like the drapes across people. They were gonna have like colorful drapes. Sometimes you'll see a flag with like multiple colors on it, and they all go to. Seasonal palettes.

And so think of like earth tones in a palette or jewel tones in a palette. So the color systems have come such a long way. They were around in the eighties, a company called Color Me. Beautiful, like made it super popular. In the eighties there were four color. Seasons, just like the seasons in nature.

Mm-hmm. And they were rolling with that pe I, I, Gabby, I have clients who pull out their portfolios from the 1980s of their colors because once you know your colors, your colors are, are golden. Right. Wow. Once you reach that age of like. 17 to 22, your colors are set for life. Like your skin tone has has done what it's gonna do.

Yeah. Right. Like your natural hair tone has done what it's gonna do. So you can use that. And so I think it's so great because it is this lifelong tool that you can use. So here's the kicker though. Back in the eighties, they only had four seasons that you can be, and we all know we do not fit into four boxes.

Right? So I think the great thing now is that the color. It has, it has expanded, right? Yeah. So there are different systems that people can use. Some people will use like a, that four pallet system. Some people use a 10 pallet system, a 16 pallet system. Um, there are so many different kinds of systems. Well, we know that I am very scientific brained, right?

Mm-hmm. So the pallets that I use will have that 16 base. But the cool thing, there's actually 22 pallets that you can be. And I wanted to use a system that really. Fine tuned what those individual colors are. So part of that process, what happens is if they're in person, we will do an eye analysis. That's one of the first things I wanna see.

What are your eyes telling me right now? So your eyes can, can show me warmth. They can show me coolness, they can show me brightness, they can have sunbursts, they can have, you know, just they can be different colors. I had a client who had two different eyes. Like completely, yeah, completely different. That was the first time that had ever happened.

But basically what I'm trying to do first is figure out, are you warm? Are you cool? Are you gonna maybe be a neutral? Right? Yeah. So I think neutral is something that people aren't talking about a lot. They kind of go, are you warm or cool, period. Which is a, which is an okay starting point, right? But there is this now that we can, now that we have all these extra palettes, there are some things that will flow neutral as well.

So if you're taking a warm palette with a cool palette, you become a neutral palette. And that's one of the cool things about. Color analysis nowadays is that we are, we've just opened up the doors to all of these palettes and that they might be talking to each other. You might be a little bit of this palette, but also a little bit of this palette, and that's where those different flows come in.

So step one is we're trying to figure out warm, cool, neutral.

Yeah. And then

step two, we're trying to find your home season. Which home season do you harmonize most with? And so we're again, going like through the, through the seasons, right? Um, we're going through those four seasons and figuring that out. I look for shadowing on the face.

We all have natural shadowing on our faces, so when you're wearing the right colors, it eliminates or lessens shadows. So you're getting an instant facelift like, yes, please, I want that. Nice. No needles needed. No needles needed, and then. Um, after we figure out your home season, then we're gonna check flows.

Like, okay, we know that this is your home season. Are you having harmony with any other palette? And then let's go ahead and check the flows from there. And after we figure out the flows, that means we have really fine tuned it. And the system that I use, we give our clients their top 30 colors that they Oh, wow.

Yeah, isn't that exciting? Yeah. And so they'll range, right? They will absolutely range you. You're gonna get your neutrals in there. You're gonna get your pop colors in there, your wow colors in there. Ah, and they're able to see that visually. We've got color cards and we also offer swatch wallets, so it's like an actual piece of cloth.

So they can use this to go shopping in the future or to check things in their closet. And at the end of the day, ultimately what we're trying to do is see. What colors harmonize best with their natural features so they can show up just absolutely beautiful and bright and bold in their own way. Yeah.

And the word that like came to me is glowing.

Yes. Right? Because you just like, it feels like it just, you're just exuding. Yeah. Like all of this confidence. And not only that, like by what the style. Specifically is, but just the colors themselves enhance like, you know what, what clothes look like on you. I love that. Absolutely. It really

does it, it does give you that glow up and it's super important for people who are marketing themselves, right?

So you need to figure out, or it's great to figure out what color is harmonized best with me. 'cause if I'm doing things on camera or I'm on, you know, on TV or what, or what. All of your marketing materials, you want to show up as the best version of yourself, right? Right. So yes, those are harmonizing.

There's, and we talk to women and men as well. There's two different ways to dress. One is in harmony with your, with your colors, and then the other is dopamine dressing. Oh, and. Dopamine dressing is wearing things that make you feel absolutely amazing. So it could be a color not in your color palette.

Yeah. And we like to tell people that color is a tool and not a rule. So if you feel absolutely great and that pink top, but that particular shade of pink is not in your palette, girl, wear it. Okay. Because it's giving you this beautiful like chemical boost that you need to, to run your day. Yeah. And, and to feel confident and successful.

I love that so much. 'cause I never thought of like getting a dopamine hit from like wearing like. An outfit that really brings you joy and that kind of like you feel good in, you just feel like real nice, or you feel flirty or you feel like, yes, whatever it is, right? Yes. Like that's awesome and I love that.

Yeah. And that is bringing the whole science into it

truly is into dressing. Yeah. Oh, Gabby, we could go down a rabbit hole with the science that I have. When I found out that there was science. In the fashion industry, I was like, I've gotta find out more about this. This is, this is amazing. I need to learn more.

I need, I need to. And so there, there is, uh, a scientist galinsky, who did this whole talk on unclothed cognition and how our brain is affected. Solely based by what we're wearing, how it affects our mood and how it affects our performance and our confidence. So something to something to look up later.

Amazing. I might have to have you back on to like dig into some of that science because I know that a lot of my audience are like science girlies. Oh, I love it. Love it. In addition to like. You know, being business girlies or just moms, like, I feel like there's kind of a, a, a good little variety there.

Yeah, absolutely. We can totally nerd out on that. I'm, yeah, definitely. I'll be down

for

that. Awesome. Well thank you so much Christian for coming on the show.

Thank you so much for having me. I've enjoyed being here.

Didn't you love that conversation? I love. How Christian breaks down style in a way that feels approachable, empowering, and that gives you permission to show people who you are just by walking into the room in a style that reflects who you are.

Like that feels really fucking good to like just be so. Confident and then like feeling yourself right where you walk into the room and you're like, I don't care what anyone thinks about me, because I feel like I'm on fucking fire. Like I'm glowing. Like all the things that make you feel good and light you up, and that whole thing that she was talking about, about the dopamine, that was really cool too.

So that just goes on to show that it's not just about the clothes, it's about clarity, confidence and being seen for your authentic self.
